Layerz Canvas is a design, motion and screen-recording app for Mac, iPhone and iPad. It is built so that your work stays on your device. This policy covers all three; where they differ, it says so.

What we collect

Layerz Canvas has no account and no server of its own. We never collect, store, or transmit your documents, screen recordings, audio, imported media, file names, or any personal information.

The app does send anonymous usage statistics through Google's Firebase Analytics: which features are used and how often — for example that a recording was made, an export was saved and in which format, or the purchase sheet was shown — together with the app version, operating system version (macOS, iOS or iPadOS) and device model. This data is not linked to you, contains nothing from your documents, and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. It is handled under Google's privacy policy. You can turn it off at any time with Share anonymous usage statistics in the app's Settings (on Mac: Settings ▸ General); collection stops immediately.

How your data is handled

  • Documents (.lcanvas packages) are saved where you choose on your device or in your own iCloud Drive, which is how the same document opens on your Mac, iPhone and iPad. Imported images, video and audio are copied into the document package so it stays self-contained.
  • Screen recordings are captured with Apple's ScreenCaptureKit only while you are recording, and are written straight into the document. Nothing is uploaded. On Mac, recording requires the Screen & System Audio Recording permission, which you grant in System Settings. On iPhone and iPad, you start and stop each recording through the system's screen-recording picker.
  • Microphone and system audio are recorded only when you turn those options on for a recording.
  • Photos (iPhone and iPad) are picked with the system photo picker, so the app only receives the photos and videos you choose and has no access to the rest of your library.
  • Captions are made from the speech in your videos with Apple's speech recognition, on your device. The app does not send the audio anywhere. The one exception is on Mac: an AI assistant connected through local automation can ask for a language your Mac can't recognise offline, and only when it explicitly allows it does Apple's speech service process that audio.
  • Exports (images, video, Lottie) are written to the location you pick. Free-tier video exports carry a small "Made with Layerz Canvas" mark; nothing else is added to your files.
  • Purchases (Layerz Canvas Pro) are handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details. Purchase status is checked on your device with Apple's StoreKit.
  • Local automation. Layerz Canvas can optionally run a local automation server for AI assistants and scripts on the same Mac (Mac only). It is off by default, listens only on your computer (127.0.0.1), and never reaches the internet.

Permissions

  • Screen & System Audio Recording (Mac): to record your screen and system sound.
  • Microphone: to record narration with a screen recording.
  • Speech Recognition: to turn the speech in your videos into captions, on your device.
  • Files: only the documents and media you open, import or export.
  • Photos (iPhone and iPad): none needed — the system photo picker gives the app only what you pick.

Children

Layerz Canvas is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.

Layerz Canvas는 Mac·iPhone·iPad용 디자인·모션·화면 녹화 앱이며, 작업물이 사용자의 기기 밖으로 나가지 않도록 만들어졌습니다. 이 방침은 세 플랫폼 모두에 적용되며, 다른 점은 따로 적었습니다.

수집하는 정보

Layerz Canvas에는 계정과 자체 서버가 없습니다. 문서, 화면 녹화, 오디오, 가져온 미디어, 파일 이름, 개인정보는 수집·저장·전송하지 않습니다.

앱은 Google Firebase Analytics를 통해 익명 사용 통계를 보냅니다. 어떤 기능을 얼마나 썼는지 — 예를 들어 녹화를 했다, 어떤 포맷으로 내보냈다, 구매 안내가 표시됐다 — 와 앱 버전, 운영체제(macOS·iOS·iPadOS) 버전, 기기 모델입니다. 이 데이터는 사용자와 연결되지 않고, 문서 내용을 포함하지 않으며, 광고나 앱 간 추적에 쓰이지 않습니다. 처리에는 Google 개인정보 보호 정책이 적용됩니다. 앱 설정의 Share anonymous usage statistics(Mac은 설정 ▸ General)에서 언제든 끌 수 있으며, 끄는 즉시 수집이 중단됩니다.

데이터 처리 방식

  • 문서(.lcanvas 패키지)는 사용자가 고른 기기의 위치나 본인의 iCloud Drive에 저장되며, 이를 통해 같은 문서를 Mac·iPhone·iPad에서 엽니다. 가져온 이미지·동영상·오디오는 문서 패키지 안에 복사되어 문서 하나로 완결됩니다.
  • 화면 녹화는 녹화 중에만 Apple의 ScreenCaptureKit으로 캡처되어 문서에 바로 기록됩니다. 어디에도 업로드되지 않습니다. Mac에서는 시스템 설정에서 허용하는 "화면 및 시스템 오디오 녹음" 권한이 필요하고, iPhone·iPad에서는 녹화를 시스템의 화면 녹화 선택 화면으로 매번 직접 시작하고 멈춥니다.
  • 마이크와 시스템 오디오는 녹화 옵션에서 켰을 때만 녹음됩니다.
  • 사진(iPhone·iPad)은 시스템 사진 선택기로 가져오므로, 앱은 사용자가 고른 사진과 동영상만 받고 나머지 보관함에는 접근하지 않습니다.
  • 자막은 동영상 속 말소리를 Apple 음성 인식으로 기기 안에서 만들며, 오디오를 어디에도 보내지 않습니다. 예외는 Mac에서 로컬 자동화로 연결한 AI 어시스턴트가 Mac이 오프라인으로 인식하지 못하는 언어를 요청하며 서버 사용을 명시적으로 허용한 경우뿐이며, 이때만 Apple 음성 서비스가 그 오디오를 처리합니다.
  • 내보내기(이미지·동영상·Lottie)는 사용자가 지정한 위치에 저장됩니다. 무료 티어의 동영상 내보내기에는 작은 "Made with Layerz Canvas" 표시가 붙으며, 그 외에 파일에 추가되는 것은 없습니다.
  • 결제(Layerz Canvas Pro)는 Apple App Store가 처리하며, 저희는 결제 정보를 받지 않습니다. 구매 상태는 Apple StoreKit으로 기기에서 확인합니다.
  • 로컬 자동화. Layerz Canvas는 같은 Mac의 AI 어시스턴트·스크립트를 위한 로컬 자동화 서버를 선택적으로 실행할 수 있습니다(Mac 전용). 기본적으로 꺼져 있고, 컴퓨터 안(127.0.0.1)에서만 수신하며, 인터넷에 연결되지 않습니다.

권한

  • 화면 및 시스템 오디오 녹음(Mac): 화면과 시스템 사운드를 녹화하기 위해.
  • 마이크: 화면 녹화에 나레이션을 함께 녹음하기 위해.
  • 음성 인식: 동영상 속 말소리를 기기 안에서 자막으로 만들기 위해.
  • 파일: 사용자가 열거나 가져오거나 내보내는 문서와 미디어만.
  • 사진(iPhone·iPad): 필요 없음 — 시스템 사진 선택기가 사용자가 고른 것만 앱에 넘깁니다.

아동

Layerz Canvas는 13세 미만을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 누구의 데이터도 수집하지 않습니다.
