Subtitle Me turns what you say into live captions on your screen. It is built so that your conversations stay on your device.
What we collect
Subtitle Me has no account and no server of its own. We never collect, store, or transmit what you say: not your speech, captions, translations, history, or search text.
To understand how the app is used and improve it, Subtitle Me sends anonymous usage statistics through Google Firebase Analytics:
- App usage events, for example that a caption session started or ended, which mode and languages it used, how long it ran and how many lines it had, whether the paywall was shown, and whether a purchase or restore succeeded.
- Device and app information that Firebase collects automatically, such as an app-instance identifier, device model, OS version, app version, and approximate country derived from the network.
We do not use advertising identifiers, do not track you across other apps or websites, and do not use this data for advertising. You can turn usage statistics off at any time in Settings > Share usage data. Firebase processes this data under Google's privacy policy.
How your data is handled
- Speech recognition and translation
- iPhone and iPad: Apple's Speech and Translation frameworks, on your device. Depending on your device and language, Apple's speech recognition may process audio on Apple's servers under Apple's privacy policy.
- Android: your phone's speech recognition service, on-device when available (otherwise the service may process audio on its provider's servers, typically Google), and Google ML Kit translation on your device after a one-time language pack download.
- History (your past captions) is stored on your device. On iPhone and iPad, with the default "iCloud" storage setting it is also stored in your own iCloud Drive and synced between your devices by Apple. You can switch to "This device only" in Settings, and delete any session from the app.
- Microphone access is used only while a caption session is running.
- Purchases are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive no payment details.

Children
Subtitle Me is not directed at children under 13.

Subtitle Me는 말하는 내용을 화면의 실시간 자막으로 바꿔주는 앱이며, 대화가 기기 밖으로 나가지 않도록 만들어졌습니다.
수집하는 정보
Subtitle Me에는 계정과 자체 서버가 없습니다. 말한 내용, 즉 음성·자막·번역·히스토리·검색어는 수집하거나 저장하거나 전송하지 않습니다.
앱이 어떻게 쓰이는지 파악하고 개선하기 위해, Google Firebase Analytics로 익명 사용 통계를 보냅니다.
- 앱 사용 이벤트: 예를 들어 자막 세션의 시작과 종료, 사용한 모드와 언어, 사용 시간과 줄 수, 결제 화면 표시 여부, 구매·복원 성공 여부.
- Firebase가 자동으로 수집하는 기기·앱 정보: 앱 인스턴스 식별자, 기기 모델, OS 버전, 앱 버전, 네트워크로 추정한 대략적인 국가 등.
광고 식별자를 사용하지 않고, 다른 앱이나 웹사이트에 걸쳐 추적하지 않으며, 이 데이터를 광고에 쓰지 않습니다. 설정 > 사용 데이터 공유에서 언제든 끌 수 있습니다. Firebase는 Google 개인정보처리방침에 따라 이 데이터를 처리합니다.
데이터 처리 방식
- 음성 인식과 번역
- iPhone·iPad: Apple의 Speech, Translation 프레임워크로 기기에서 처리됩니다. 기기와 언어에 따라 Apple 음성 인식이 Apple 서버에서 처리될 수 있으며, 이 경우 Apple 개인정보 보호 정책이 적용됩니다.
- Android: 휴대폰의 음성 인식 서비스를 사용하며, 가능하면 기기에서 처리합니다. 그렇지 않으면 서비스 제공자(보통 Google)의 서버에서 처리될 수 있습니다. 번역은 언어 팩을 한 번 받은 뒤 Google ML Kit로 기기에서 처리됩니다.
- 히스토리(지난 자막)는 기기에 저장됩니다. iPhone·iPad에서 저장 위치가 기본값인 "iCloud"이면 본인의 iCloud Drive에도 저장되어 Apple이 기기 간에 동기화합니다. 설정에서 "이 기기에만"으로 바꿀 수 있고, 앱에서 어떤 기록이든 삭제할 수 있습니다.
- 마이크는 자막 세션이 진행되는 동안에만 사용됩니다.
- 결제는 Apple(App Store) 또는 Google(Google Play)이 처리하며, 저희는 결제 정보를 받지 않습니다.

- 마이크: 말하는 내용을 듣기 위해.
- 음성 인식(iPhone·iPad): 음성을 글자로 바꾸기 위해.
아동
Subtitle Me는 13세 미만을 대상으로 하지 않습니다.
